What is an EAS System?

Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) is a method for preventing shoplifting in retail stores. It usually involves the use of electronic gateways/antennas and hard tags/soft labels, connected to antennas. Tags/Labels are attached to the merchandise and must be removed by store clerk during the purchasing process. If someone tries to steal the merchandise, antennas will detect undetached tag/label, and the security alarm will go off.
