A traffic safety mirror is an effective and affordable solution to prevent road accidents. It eliminates blind angles and gives a maximum overview of road intersections but can also be used at schools, public areas, public transport, and warehouses. The reflective red and white edge or orange border can easily be detected by road users. An anti-freeze version for winter climates is available.
If unsure of how to pick the right mirror, you can read more in our dedicated FAQ Guide.
Traffic mirrors are usually not flat. These feature a convex lens that allows the reflection to be viewed from a wide and indirect angle as well as from long distances. For maximum effectiveness and functionality, pick a mirror size that is big enough and can be seen from far away. The rule of thumb states that the larger the mirror, the longer the view distance. All mirrors of the same size have the same viewing distance.
Traffic mirrors are offered in rectangular, round and panoramic shapes. These are available in several different kinds of materials such as acrylic, polycarbonate, and stainless steel. Stainless steel provides the highest strength and durability but also the highest price. It also has the added benefit of increasing reflectivity with time. Acrylic and polycarbonate offer lower durability, strength and price; their reflectivity decreases with time.
Pole mounted panoramic mirrors are great for T - intersections, narrow warehouse corridors, factory roadways and all areas with low-speed traffic.
SafeGear's traffic mirrors can be mounted using a strong, adjustable brackets for 50 and 75 mm posts and pipes or to the wall using an accessory.
